Friendship Day Gifting Options

By Aarti Natarajan Sharma

The tradition of friendship day started as early as 1938 from Hallmark cards by Joyce Hall. After that, it was celebrated by Dr Ramon Artemio Bracho in 1958 in Paraguay. In 2011, the United Nations declared 30 July as Friendship Day. However, several countries celebrate it before or after the designated date of the UN. In India, it is celebrated on the first Sunday of August. This year it falls on 1 August 2021.

Friendship is one of the best relationships around. It is often said that we cannot choose the family we are born into but friends are the family we choose. The day was created to celebrate and honour these friendships. Typically, friends meet and exchange gifts on this day. A friendship day gift needs to be special, to convey just how much you value your friend. With the world in the grip of the pandemic, sending a meaningful gift assumes even greater significance to make up for not being able to meet in person.

We bring to you some unique gift sets which are sure to bring a smile to your friend’s face!
